Heaven is that which rises and expands.
The Earth is what goes down and centers.
Man is the harmony of these two forces.
This harmony we can nurture within ourselves.

We practice between earth and heaven. White cloudes on the sky above and dark pine shadows on the hillside. YIN and YANG in nature and within us. fot. Michał Choński

Heaven and earth are within us and we, being in between, are the game of their powers.
The Tai Chi practice is a  form of participation in this game.
It is the law of coherence between Macrocosmos and Microcosmos.
This line of thinking is not only a  theory but also a  reality to which we can return from our intelectual, separated from nature, kartezian civilisation.
It is the return to the roots, the foundation of all ancient civilizations.
This way of thinking, feeling and practicing is the base of Tai Chi Kung, the Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nei Dan, that is taoist alchemy and other chinese health practices.
During Tai Chi Kung practice, being with harmony with our environment, we integrate within us those two aspects (Heaven and Earth) and become the True Man.
The words: Heaven, Earth, Man, True Man, Microcosmos, Macrocosmos, beginning with capital letter, are the concepts of ancient taoist philosophy. Their meaning is different than in the common use.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the phisical realm it means that the lower part of the body goes downward to earth, the joints of legs and loins are flexible, soft and bent. The upper part of the body goes upward to heaven, the vertebrae of the spine, especially cervical vertebrae is stretched, the torso lenghtens. This results in our motion system being fit and averts the "shrinking with age". The energy circulates much better in a  body that is flexible and fit, therefore we become healthier.
